Hugh started with Ravensdown in 2002 as an Account Manager in the Wairarapa. Hugh then decided to go overseas for nine months but came back to Ravensdown as a Key Account Manager in Hawkes Bay. Hugh was then promoted into a management role as the Stores Operations Manager for the Lower North Island, then to the role of Sales Manager for the Upper South Island and most recently, Hugh was promoted to the role of Group Marketing Manager.

Hugh grew up on a farm and has always had a keen interest in agriculture. “I really enjoy getting out and about on farms and helping farmers increase their profitability and improve their business.” Hugh enjoys getting to travel throughout New Zealand and working with a great team of people. Hugh considers his long–term career prospects with Ravensdown to be very important and suggests that when looking for an employer to look closely at the company, how they work, their future direction and what opportunities you have to grow within that company.

Kate moved from her home in North Otago to become an Account Manager in Taumarunui in early 2005 and was promoted to Key Account Manager for Taupo in 2007. Kate recently completed a secondment in Queensland, Australia, where she was promoting Ravensdown products and services to Queensland farmers. “I’m really enjoying this job – its great being able to work with farmers to make a difference and grow their businesses.”

As a new graduate Kate joined Ravensdown on the Graduate Pay Scheme. “Being on the Graduate Scheme means you know exactly where you’re going and what you need to achieve for the first two years. My manager and workmates are always willing to support me and help me achieve – we all get on well and it’s a great team atmosphere. I’ve learnt heaps - the amount of technical support available within the company is fantastic!” Kate also enjoys working outdoors 75% of the time and having the opportunity to look around New Zealand. Kate's a great example of a graduate who has worked their way through Ravensdown and has recently been promoted to Sales Manager of our Lower South Island team.
