We’re looking for two permanent full time Laboratory Analysts to join our team at Analytical Research Laboratories (ARL), Ravensdown’s Napier based laboratory. ARL provides soil, plant, feed quality, water and fertiliser testing for customers all over the country.

About the Role

As part of a 12 strong laboratory team, you’ll have the chance to work with modern analytical equipment and the latest technology. You’ll be responsible for preparing materials, and solutions, operating and troubleshooting lab equipment and reviewing data. Along with the rest of the team, you’ll ensure a quick turn-around time for our customers samples while driving quality and looking to continuously improve the way we do things. This would be a great opportunity if you’re starting out in your science-focussed career or you are looking for a new challenge.

Skills and Experience

To be successful in this role, you’ll ideally have:

  • A Science-related degree
  • Experience using analytical instrumentation
  • Experience in a commercial lab (this is beneficial but is not a pre-requisite)
  • Understanding of H&S in the workplace
  • A high level of self-motivation and initiative
  • The ability to work to and meet tight deadlines
  • Computer literacy and proficiency with Microsoft programs
  • A high level of attention to detail
  • The ability to quickly adapt to new processes and systems
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a customer-focussed approach.
