About the Role

We’re looking for a Plant Operator to join the team at our Christchurch Works site where we manufacture, process and despatch fertiliser. As a key member of our manufacturing team, you'll ensure the safe, effective operation of the manufacture plant, top belts and scrubbing plant to achieve planned production levels. By keeping machinery running at optimum levels - and safely - we're best placed to help our farmers/shareholders and you're best placed for a rewarding job with great scope for growth. And it's a job with variety too, as you'll also be involved in product blending, despatch, handling incoming raw materials and the associated storage.

About You

Given the work environment and nature of the role, it’s essential you’re physically fit, and mechanically-minded. Ideally you’ll be comfortable at the controls of a forklift or loader, but if not, we can provide the training to get you there if you have a positive, can-do attitude and a full class 1 licence.

Putting health and safety at the front of everything you do, you’ll be capable of identifying workplace hazards and continually look for improvements that we can make to our systems and processes.

To be successful in this role you will ideally also:

  • Be happy with flexible night and day shift hours and weekend work
  • Possess manufacturing or process plant experience
  • Enjoy working as part of a team
  • Have great communication skills
  • Have a reasonable level of computer literacy

For all that you’ll bring, you can expect plenty in return, including:

  • Medical insurance
  • 5% Superannuation
  • Ongoing training
  • Excellent development opportunities across the co-operative
