If you’re keen to grow your career, there’s no better place to nourish it than here. We’re committed to providing our people with all they need to positively thrive. So, isn’t it time you put your trust in the company that’s been trusted throughout New Zealand for 40 years?

About the Roles

We’re looking for two Plant Operators to join the team at our Christchurch Works site where we manufacture, process and despatch fertiliser.

The first role is a permanent position working in the despatch plant, where you'll provide our customers with exceptional service and ensure the safe, effective operation of our machinery. By keeping machinery running at optimum levels - and safely - we're best placed to help our farmers/shareholders... and you're best placed for a rewarding job with great scope for growth. And it's a job with variety too, as you'll also be involved in product blending, despatch, handling incoming raw materials and the associated storage.

The second role is a fixed term position for six months in our Acid Plant. You'll work alongside the Acid Plant Engineers to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the Sulphur Melter and Acid Plant, meeting the required sulphur quality and production levels. You'll also co-ordinate with maintenance staff to pro-actively maintain the plant.

About You

Given the work environment and nature of the role, it’s essential you’re physically fit, and mechanically-minded. Ideally you’ll be comfortable at the controls of a forklift or loader, but if not, we can provide the training to get you there if you have a positive, can-do attitude and a full class 1 licence.

Putting health and safety at the front of everything you do, you’ll be capable of identifying workplace hazards and continually look for improvements that we can make to our systems and processes.

To be successful in this role you will ideally also:

  • Possess manufacturing or process plant experience
  • Enjoy working as part of a team
  • Be happy with flexible day shift hours
  • Have great communication skills
  • Have a reasonable level of computer literacy

Benefits

For all that you’ll bring, you can expect plenty in return, including:

  • Medical insurance
  • 5% Superannuation
  • Ongoing training
  • Excellent development opportunities across the co-operative
