About the Role

We’re looking for a Quarry Operator to join our crew at the Geraldine Lime Quarry. You’ll look after the effective, efficient operation of the processing plant and its machinery, ensuring production of high quality lime.

You’ll receive training and mentoring from experienced operators to grow your skills and experience. You’ll get to learn how to safely run all our heavy machinery including bulldozers, loaders, excavators, ATD dump trucks, and our highly automated processing plant.

We are a busy quarry so there’ll be shift work involved, including various activities for maintaining plant reliability & cleanliness.

About You

If you already have quarry experience, then that’s a definite bonus. But for the right person with a positive attitude, we’re willing to invest the time and training to get you up to speed to use our plant equipment safely and effectively. 

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • A commitment to following all health and safety requirements
  • Mechanical skills and knowledge of basic repair work
  • Initiative and willingness to get stuck in and learn
  • A valid NZ Full driver’s license
  • Reasonable physical fitness and able to lift heavy objects

Ideal but not essential:

  • Experience operating front-end loaders and the relevant licences (Class 2, W and T endorsements desirable)
  • Mobile plant or fixed processing plant experience is beneficial
  • Quarrying or Mining experience
