What’s a Quarry Cadetship?
You’ll receive training and mentoring from experienced colleagues, following a set structure to qualify you with the relevant machinery and mobile plant licenses, first aid, hazard identification and other health and safety processes. You’ll progress through recognised industry qualifications and learn real skills to help you advance. You will ultimately obtain your B or A Grade Quarry Managers Certification.
What does a Quarry Worker do?
As part of our small tight-knit quarry crew you’ll learn quarry management systems, use all quarry mobile plant and operate fixed processing plant and machinery to ensure production of high quality lime. The Dipton quarry operation involves blasting and extraction of limestone rock, transportation of materials using modern mobile plant and processing into high quality lime products through crushing, drying and screening systems.
What experience do I need?
If you already have quarry experience, mobile plant or fixed processing plant experience then that’s a definite bonus. But don’t worry if not because, for the right person, we’re willing to invest the time and training to get you up to speed to use our plant equipment safely and effectively.
As long as you commit to following all health and safety requirements; have great people skills; and show the initiative and willingness to get stuck in and learn, then you’ll go far with us.
