If you are a graduate in an agricultural-related discipline, and you’re keen on an agricultural career with a business that can take you places, come and talk to us. At Ravensdown, we provide our development programme members with fertile ground for growth. Aligning yourself with a solid, reputable company that’s stood the test of time is a great move to make, especially if you’re driven and eager to achieve. We’re dedicated to providing opportunities to match ambition.
We are currently recruiting for two intakes, beginning in September 2019 and February/March 2020.
The development programme is open to a small number of individuals and is initially based out of Christchurch for a minimum of six months. All applicants must be open to being based in other regions for short or extended periods during the programme, and open to permanent placement in a variety of locations upon its completion in order to maximise their options.
So, what should you expect from your first year at Ravensdown? Our current development program is constantly evolving and we envision that our next programme members will spend a minimum of six months on a comprehensive development programme, gaining personal development and knowledge in the fertiliser along with many other major farm inputs, farm systems and environmental management arenas, and gain a good understanding of how our business operates. Beyond the initial 6 months of ‘basic training’, your next steps will depend on your individual strengths and learning timeline. Those coming from an agricultural focused background can expect to move into our Regional Agri Support roles – working to pass on your knowledge and skills, by working directly with our valued farmer shareholders. There will also be opportunities to work on projects more specific to your study background. As your knowledge grows, there will be opportunities for you to advance within this supportive cooperative environment, into various areas within the business.
Please apply to Rachel Wix, HR Advisor, by clicking ‘Apply Now’ or ‘Apply for this job’ and uploading your CV and cover letter. Please also include in your cover letter your preference for either the September 2019 or February/March 2020 intake.
Applications close on 16 June 2019.
Ravensdown is committed to a drug and alcohol free workplace. The successful applicant will be required to undergo a pre-employment drug test.
