We’ve got an exciting opportunity for a motivated and driven person to lead the team and manage the operation of our New Plymouth Service Centre.


About the Role

The New Plymouth Service Centre is a purpose designed and built facility containing highly technical and efficient mobile and fixed plant designed to meet our customers’ needs. You'll have responsibility for the management of this key distribution operation which supplies a wide product range into a complex market. Through effective leadership and hands on management of your team, you'll ensure sufficient stock is on hand to meet our customers' needs.

Reporting through to the Stores Operations Manager, a key aspect of this role is to develop and maintain close working relationships both internally and externally. Leading people, maintaining a high level of health and safety, managing stock movements, the bagging operation, developing maintenance and capital plans including justification for expenditure and achieving these while maintaining a high level of housekeeping.

In order to achieve this, you will be required to work closely with the Sales, Logistics and Manufacturing Works teams to ensure planning is in place and a high level of customer service is maintained.

About You

You need to be passionate about providing great customer service, have a positive attitude and be driven to see your team succeed and grow in their skills and experience. Thinking on your feet and having a focus on continuous improvement is important as well as ensuring that you embody the high company values in everything that you and your team do.

Ideal Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience in a customer service environment
  • An affinity with the rural community
  • Experience in the bulk materials industry
  • Team management experience
  • Strong computer literacy
  • Budget management experience
  • Experience in Mobile Plant operation and materials handling is essential
  • Focus on continuous improvement
  • Reasonable physical fitness
