We’re looking for a highly motivated and driven individual to join the busy team at our new purpose built Service Centre in New Plymouth to help keep our operations running smoothly, safely and successfully. From operating and maintaining both mobile and fixed plant, to working as part of a team to deliver our customer’s requirements, your mix of practical skills, personality and professionalism means that nothing will be a problem.

About the Role:


The key focus of this role is the maintenance (cleaning & greasing) of the store asset list, encompassing everything from the intake and despatch plants (including our brand new precision blending plant), to the site mobile plant. The role also has a requirement to support the rest of the stores team in meeting the day to day requirements of operating the store. This could mean that one moment you’ll be helping a customer with their order; the next driving the loader to meet a despatch deadline. This is a permanent full time role and would suit ideally someone who has worked with and maintained fixed and mobile plant in a bulk material handling industry, although training can be provided for someone with the right attitude and ability. You’ll enjoy a flexible approach to the work you do and the hours of operation. Normal hours of operation for the store is 7-5, with weekend work as required to cover busy periods.  Please note the nature of the maintenance work means this role will need to operate outside of the store hours (normally covering late afternoon to midnight) – we are flexible as to how this is implemented.

Skills & Experience:

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem solving skills
  • Ideally previous experience maintaining fixed and mobile plant involved in the bulk material handling industry
  • Good computer literacy and ability to pick up our systems
  • The ability to work as a team and follow instructions is essential
  • Experience in forklift and ideally front-end loader operation with relevant licenses (Class 2 ideally with W and F endorsements)
  • Reasonable physical fitness       
  • Customer service experience and be an excellent ‘people person’
  • Experience using a computer or be capable of picking up Ravensdown’s ordering and stock management system
